NEW YORK STATE’S MINIMUM WAGE INCREASES

As of December 31, 2015, New York State’s minimum wage is now $9.00 per hour.

The minimum wage for “tipped” employees in the hospitality industry is $7.50 as of December 31, 2015.

The minimum wage for tipped employees in all other industries, except the building service industry, is $7.65 per hour when tips total at least $1.35 per hour, and $6.80 per hour when tips total at least $2.20 per hour.

No tip credit is allowed in the building service industry.

The minimum wage for fast food workers as of December 31, 2015 is $10.50 in New York City, and $9.75 in the rest of the state.
